Start of the Summer Season
17 May 2023
Finally, the sun is shining, the flowers are blooming and everyone seems happier! It felt like the sunshine was never going to make it and our winter would be never ending, but here we are sunshine and 80 degree weather. With summer comes a lot of happy faces, longer days and the start of markets! I’m so stoked for this market season and am so excited to be back to it! I’ve missed all my vendor friends and cool customers.
This season, I plan on updating my setup, expanding my products and participating in some of my favorite markets and pop ups. Starting in June, I’ll be popping up at a total of 4 markets! Starting it off you can find me in the oldest neighborhood in Seattle, Pioneer Square for a night market. Put on by 210 Seattle, this market is in the coolest event space and building. The space is used for a variety of events, photoshoots and monthly markets. Every first Thursday of the month, 210 Seattle holds a night market that goes from 6 to 9pm. During the market you can find a DJ playing groovy tunes and an abundance of amazing, creative vendors with lots of goodies. On June 1st, I’ll be participating in the Thursday night market and kicking off my market season strong. You can find me at 210 S Washington St, Seattle from 6 to 9pm. There will be lots of new items including my totes and my favorite mismatch earring sets.
During the same week as my night market, I’ll also be popping up at one of my favorite events of all, the Tacoma Sunday Market! June 4th is the first Sunday of the month and will be the first market of the TSM season and I cannot wait to be there. This market holds a special in my heart and it was the first one I ever did, and had showed me what a beautiful community Tacoma has to offer. For this market season, TSM will be located at Courthouse Square in Downtown Tacoma and will happen every first Sunday of the month. Here you can find lots of vintage sellers, amazing makers/artists and wonderful food! On June 4th, come find me and other vendors at Courthouse Square from 11 to 4pm.
The next two markets that I have scheduled for the month of June are both put on by La Paloma. La Paloma is a cute little shop located on N 21st St in Tacoma and during the summer has a outdoor market space in North Proctor. The first market I’ll be doing with them is the La Paloma Marketplace in North Proctor on N 27th St in Tacoma. This event is every Saturday starting in June and going through the rest of the Summer season. They curate a space for artists and creatives of all kinds and are focused on sustainability. The shop itself is also a reflection of the market, giving opportunities to many artists/creatives and really supporting those in our community. At La Paloma Tacoma, they host an event called Lazy Sunday every Sunday of the month from 11 to 5pm. During the Lazy Sunday, you can shop around or just hangout and chat. June 10th, you can find me at the Marketplace from 9 to 2pm. Then, I’ll be popping up June 25th at the shop for the Lazy Sunday event from 11 to 5pm.
Now that I got my updated market schedule out for the world to see, I guess I should talk about the new products I have in store for my upcoming season. As we know from my last post, I had the opportunity to make screen printed tote bags. The tote bags were such a fun project I did and I loved how they turned out. After printing a few, I have decided to continue with totes and make them part of my shop. For my upcoming markets, I plan on having my signature mushroom tote along with another tote printed with a new design!
Some other products that I have been working on recently, is anklets. With summer here I felt that it was time to break out the cutest summertime accessory. The anklets I have been making reflect the same idea and style as my recent mismatch charm earrings. They are made from a variety of funky, one off beads and grouped together in like colors. The anklets definitely pair well with my new charm earrings!
Even though my fruit earrings aren’t new, they have made a comeback for this summer season and I have added a new fruit to the mix. The newest fruit is the very cute strawberry earrings. They are made from plastic strawberry trinkets I found at one of my favorite local shops, Tinkertopia. The strawberry earrings are super light weight and are the perfect shade of red with a hint of gold. In the fruit earring collection, you can find cherries, peaches, tangerines and now strawberries. All the fruits, totes and anklets can be found at my next four pop ups this June!
With all that being said, I can’t wait for the upcoming month full of pop ups and fun things! If you can, come check out an event, shop around with me and stay up to date with the new products I have in store!
