New Things Happening
7 May 2022
Its been a while since I’ve done a regular blog post, but I’m back and ready to share some new cool things going on.
I took the day pretty easy and just relaxed. The weather has been pretty dark and gloomy though, but it started to perk up towards the end. The suns shining and the clouds are moving out and I’m feeling pretty content. I also took some time to reflect and journal, and that’s when I realized I have some fun things to update on my blog!
In a previous blog of mine I shared with you guys that I was struggling with what I wanted to do post graduation. It’s been about 4 months now since I’ve graduated from university. During those months, I’ve been working hard on growing Kabenzie’s and becoming successful by my own definition. I have made so many new friends and made some great connections with amazing people. I’ve done about 3-4 markets a month and for each market I took away something different.
During the new markets, I was also learning so much about myself and was getting an itch for something new in my life. I decided that it was time to put my degree to use and start applying to jobs that could help me grow into a career I could see myself in. Scrolling through Linkedin, I was looking for creative jobs in the fashion world, specifically visual merchandising. I was checking the Nordstrom page for any potential jobs and low and behold, Nordstrom came through and had posted a visual merchandising position!
Feeling excited and happy, I went ahead and applied to the job that I was hoping to find. I was contacted a week or so after by the visual manager, got an interview, and was hired on to the team! I started my new job on May 3rd and so far it’s been a nice change for me.
When I was struggling to figure out what I wanted to do post graduation, I was writing down goals I had for myself. Some of those goals were to grow Kabenzie’s, make new connections, and find a career job by summer. In this time and after my little moment of reflection today, I realized I’m making it to my goals slowly but surely and I feel like I am becoming successful in my own way. I feel so excited and happy with things and felt that this new step for me was something I wanted to share with others.
Hopefully you guys are getting some good feelings going and are out having amazing new experiences!
Kabenzie :)
